I highly reccomend Faulkner's *Light in August* (better than both of the above
IMHO).

I was recently alerted that the Yahoo Joyce-Ulysses Group is in the middle of a
"Readthrough" of Ulysses. Each chapter is being hosted by a very learned
Joycean. To subscribe to the latter go to Yahoo, go to Groups, and then find
Joyce-Ulysses, which is the name of the group.
The group generates four or five posts a day, and they are just coming to the
end of Scylla, having started with Telemachus in September 2002. You can
choose to get a digest rather than individual emails if you prefer. You can
also access past posts through the Yahoo archive, searchable through any
parameter you choose e.g."Quakerism", "Scylla" "the Riverend".

This I will definitely give this one another chance.
