Make the case for Saddam--you're such a worm. It's almost as bad as "peace
monger."

Enforced how? Even the Resolution has it vaguely stipulated. As I
understand it's something like "or suffer the consequences." But to what
degree must Iraq suffer? As Pat Buchannon stated last night on the
McLaughlin Group (if we really wanted to take out Saddam we could do it)
with one "carefully guided cruise missile" (or better yet "withdrawal our
troops" from the region entirely and gain the "world's respect" (go, Pat!));
or annihilate Baghdad and kill tens of thousands of innocent people? Again,
it's not a black and white issue. Like under Picasso's shrouded mural, there
are many shades of gray.

When's the last time great gallons of Iraqi blood was spilled anyway? I beg
you to prove me wrong, but I think it was 12 years ago when the United
States bombed them to smitherines.
You know, contrary to puclic opinion, Iraq is pretty suave as far as
Mid-east countries. At least it was until 12 years ago. But even still,
women can drive and go out unescorted. They don't have to wear hejab. Boys
and girls can go out in public; fornication and adultery aren't crimes; I'm
almost certain alcohol is legal. And there used to be a bustling economy
with many opportunities for the subjects. No you couldn't talk bad about the
President and expect to keep your tongue, but you could go to college and
get a good job, and get your health taken care of, and your children
educated, and you didn't have to worry about evacuating your home soon and
carting your month supply of rice and wheat to the hills; your babies didn't
die of cholera; you never got turned away at the hospitals. Saddam
personally is a rotten son of a bitch. I wanted him dropped in his Gulf of
oil last time around, but I can't honestly say it's been all his doing. Back
in the day when he was in the US's good graces, he did alright by his
people. At least as far as Mid-east countries go.
