Thoughts on Iraq

I read it in a weblog. It made sense to me. It's the only thing that makes sense to me as an
explanation for US behaviour. None of the people in the White House are stupid or (despite what some
people have suggested) religious zealots, so the only reason for presenting such stupid/difficult to
accept reasons for war in Iraq is that they're not the real reasons. And I don't buy the money for
oil line either. So what else are they going to do in Iraq? Pitch a tent and paint it pretty
colours?
Of course it may be that they've miscalculated and the BS designed to prevent military preparations
by the Sauds (until they're ready for them) will backfire and cause a distinct loss of faith by the
American people. That seems to have happened to some extent. Maybe they'll come out with the real
reason some time soon.
