The topic I was hinting at with this: how does Pynchon handle 
paradoxes in liberal thinking?

There's always the problem of, "We're from the peace, freedom and 
independence people, and we're going to take away your right to 
speak, organize, and protest."

Pynchon is anti-categorical, yet would he be categorically against 
the categoricalists? We're looking for a philosophy whose highest 
exception function does not render itself paradoxical, at least if 
we're dressed like Modernists today.
