I heard the Lowe's and Home Depot stores in Virginia are sold clean out of
duct tape. I think it's a gross scare tactic myself. No better way to rally
the support of the people (for war) than to tell them they're under
attacked. And why duct tape and plastic on the windows? That would mean
They're assuming it will be a vaporous attack, even though the last attack
was......not anything duct tape could have protected you against. It's just
too convenient. Whose mustard and anthrax is everybody worried about right
now? I don't believe it for a second.
It works though. Makes great Propaganda. My mother didn't want me going to
the peace rally in San Francisco this Sunday, worried that the terrorists
might strike and kill us. "A whole bunch of people all together," she
questioned me fearfully. I comforted her in saying, "Mom, we're on their
side, they won't attack us."
