Thus we come to the fundamental question of ethics: intent or
outcome? If by intent we regulate, we attempt to assign intent to
methods and thus make them taboo. If we regulate by outcome, we ask
to judge whether something made the whole better, regardless of who
died or not.
While I am normally behind door #2, I see no way the whole is helped
by (genocidal) war against the Iraqi people.
