The other half of it isn't contradictory: let live those who are 
advantageous to me.

That's an extreme formulation of it ("You, seller of newspapers... 
are worthless to me! Gaaaa!" stab, stab) but maybe shows my viewpoint 
here. I'm all for systems with the least amount of and latest 
appearance of constraint.
