Didn't you think it was ingenious how Van and Ada were both secretly
fathered by Demon out of Marina, true brother and sister. Their half
sibling was Lucette.

This in itself was worth the price of admission. However i agree with
most of what you say about the book. Except that the word play got
tedious.
