Depends on the size of the dollop and what sort of data you're forced to
deal with. In this case we are transferring between parties, so the checksum
value shall accompany my intent.

And don't forget hash indices, if you wish to delve into aromatic parsing.
One must start somewhere in order to achieve efficiency.

checksum: 1. The sum of a group of data items, which sum is used for
checking purposes. 2. A computed value which depends on the contents of a
block of data and which is transmitted or
stored along with the data in order to detect corruption of the data.
