It's a classic divide between moralists and amoralists.

If you take a child, put it in a room with no windows and beat the 
shit out of it for the first fifteen years of its life, what will 
happen when you let it out?

It'll beat the shit out of the first thing it can find.

Thus is conditioning.

Absolute idealists would have us think that this child can tell the 
difference between lofty, abstracted, distant and over-conceptualized 
concepts like "good" and "evil," but many people from varying 
political persuasions tell us otherwise.
