Israel is a democratic state with many citizens who are in the anti-
war camp. Iraq is an indirect threat to Israel, true, but really no match
for the jewish state.
Rather, I think, Bush's primary interest in dominating Iraq is a
perceived need to control and stabilize middle eastern oil reserves,
not so much for profit, but to prevent any sudden and catastrophic
disruptions of the flow of oil, which would have devastating
consequences for western economies, regardless other possible
sources of oil.
