The real Gottfried

His name was Lothar Sieber, he was a 22-year-old pilot, and the first manned 
rocket flight started at March 1st, 1945, on the Hollberg in the Schwaebische 
Alb. The flight lasted only a few seconds and Lothar Sieber lost his life. 
The rocket was produced by a firm called Bachem, in cooperation with the SS; 
Bachem is still existing, under another name, they are producing caravans 
today.
