2. Do you think that the deepening of such conflict might damage some
of
the existing relations between Europe and the US, and if so, to what
extent?
In particular, to what extent will this be reflected in the already
difficult
economic relationship between Europe and the US?
Any genuine conflict between Europe and the United States is to be
welcomed. However, I am fairly sceptical about the so-called
'conflict'
that
is said to exist between these powerful modern-day empires. I say
this
because
American and European capitalists, who are obviously internationalist
by
nature, rely upon each other for their defence, survival and
expansion.
Indeed, they are far too comfortable and incestuous to risk any real
danger or
confrontation. In reality, the West is a collective entity and -
whilst
being
at war with Islam - is unlikely to make the kind of cataclysmic
mistake
that
led to fratricidal warfare between European nations in 1914-18 and
1939-45.
Therefore I believe that any hostility between America and sections
of
Western
Europe is purely contrived and transient. There may seem to be some
dissent
within governments and parties on a peripheral level, but at the core
the
powers that intend to dominate the planet are, I'm certain, united
and of
a
singular will. Furthermore, of course, American goods are flooding
into
Europe. If there was a real current of anti-Americanism among the
governments
of Europe, there would be no EuroDisney. Likewise, we are expected to
believe
that America and China are economic opponents when, in fact, there
are
McDonalds restaurants in places like Beijing, Shanghai and Guangzhou;
including plans for another 100.

(Never heard of this guy, and the rest didn't interest me, but the
above seems to have a clarity to it.)
