Israeli Influence on the Bush Administration (Was why...)

This I consider a valid counterargument.

To me the fascinating question is thus: G.W. Bush is a Christian 
fanatic; this much is clear from the news. Israel contains a number 
of religious fanatics, including the war criminal Ariel Sharon, who 
like GWB have power at this time. Is it possible this "oil war" is 
simply, "the IVth crusade"?

I have doubts about oil being the primary motive here. It is clearly 
a motive - as it cannot help but be, since it constitutes the wealth 
of Iraq - but I question why Iraq is pursued out of other nations, 
especially so soon after the terrorist attacks on the USA, when most 
people from Islamic nations already consider US policy slanted in 
favor of Israel.

Keeping in mind that religious wars have been at least a fixture of 
"Western" history for the past 2,000 years...
