Then prozak responded:

The genealogy of CAMERA shouldn't discount any facts presented at its
website and at the other website I cited but which Prozak seems to have
ignored--the one for the Chicago Reader.
http://www.chireader.com/hottype/2002/020628_1.html
"CAMERA traced the quote to a press release last October 3 [2001] from the
Islamic Association for Palestine -- which is based in suburban Palos Hills
and which CAMERA, citing research by the U.S. Immigration and Naturalization
Service, describes as 'pro-Hamas.'"
"Universal Press did release an 'editor's note' that the Tribune published
on June 14. It said the 'I control America' quote had been 'widely reported
in the Palestinian press but cannot be confirmed in independent sources.
Geyer and Universal Press Syndicate regret not having attributed the quote
more specifically.'"
So the Ariel Sharon quotation that is so widely cited among Jew-haters has,
so far as I've been able to tell, only been traced back to the Islamic
Association for Palestine--not to Ariel Sharon himself, as offensive as the
man may be.
