Too bad. Guess all that bad karma you been floating
down the river to a french quarter has come back to
kiss you on the mouth. Sure looked like the kiss of
death when Doug kissed your ass at the year end and you
puckered right up. When Doug sings your praises you
best get down to the river. Don't count on those karmic
do-gooders to Gently Frame your distractors for long.
Their karmic stoicism is infantile. They have a
spiritual myopia and are irresponsible dicks. Your
missing glasses can be replaced.
Sticks and stones and hearts and bones can hurt when
they are insulted.
Morris has every reason to expect respect. Why not give
it to him? For he is as Ivan, sensual, noble and
passionate. Will you be his Smerdyakov?
Smerdyakov's face that he had completely recovered from
his illness. His face was fresher,
fuller, his hair stood up jauntily in front, and was
plastered down at the sides. He was sitting in
a parti-coloured, wadded dressing-gown, rather dirty
and frayed, however. He had spectacles
on his nose, which Ivan had never seen him wearing
before. This trifling circumstance
suddenly redoubled Ivan's anger: "A creature like that
and wearing spectacles!"
