one of the joys of this list, tess is its very loose,
inclusive, and anything goes attitude. No one controls
much of anything as it probably should be. Other lists
revolving around a certain writer have different
make-ups of people, in some cases mostly academics,
who will go to great length discussing derrida. we,
fortunately, don't have that, though there are those,
like yourself, who would like to engage readers on the
list about literary theory. and that's fine, but
realize the ocean here is quite broad, and since a
writer like Pynchon incorporates so much non-literary
subjects, things, what have you, well it makes sense
that so much of his scope and vision is reflected
here.
