But why must there be a script? A conspiracy? A
Nixonian ploy? A drama made for conspiracy TV? Maybe
the Bush people don't know what they are going to do
next. That's a possibility. Isn't it? And would it be
such a bad thing?
no.
It's a complicated game, like chess. White moves.
Black moves. One move changes the board.
Looking back we see that presidents didn't always have
a plan to deal with these complicated problems. Sure,
they had lots of ideas, plans even... but Sometimes
there was no logic, no principles ... just good old
fashioned American seat of the pants working it out as
we go...deducing, if we must, after we move.
