So yeah, I guess I do get a bit defensive about it.

I was none too happy when a list member reassured me
that the WTC was insured. 

Anyway, after ten years in education (I've taught high
school and college for ten years now, with the
exception of one year when I worked for the FDIC) the 
most honest, the hardest working, the smartest, the
most ethical, innovative, imaginative, philonthropic, 
humanitarians, and readers and athletes (two things I
admire) I have ever met,  worked on the street.

Yes, of course that's absolutely right. And it was
more the case back in the 30s and 40s.

But of course the business is still about connections.

Thank Goodness! Nothing wrong with that. My word is my
bond. That's a nice way to do business. Keeps it
human. 
And, well, honest.
