Take him seriously about?
I think Jung is fun.
Would I pay a Jungian?
No.
Would I pay a room full of Jungians to play with my
penis? Why not? I'm insured.
Seriously, this is old news cause we can't all get our
mail delivered at the same time, but there was an
interesting article in the NYT Science section this
week. The article talked a bit about the 1950s analyst
craze and Woody Allen and how Woody and medication and
so on ended the analyst craze but now it has made
something of a come back.
Anyway, go to the last car on the A-Train for group
therapy sessions. comfort others who are sharing
their sorrow, withdrawing from or coming down off
whatever happened to be peddled by the street
pharmacologists and pharmacists that day or whatever
they got from the doctors. Cathartic. tears dripping
on your shoes, the bristling unshaven cheeks moist,
pressed into filthy hands, snot drooling hands wiping
pee stained hospital scrubs. Postures of utter
despair, hunched over, vomiting or weeping. Jesus
freaks and paranoids. Deinstitutionalized despairs and
disorders. soldiers of fortuneless fantasy or
nightmare, flashbacking and backflashing shadows and
shades. souls adrift on the seas of rush houred
humanity hurrying home huff huff remembering that pan
handling is illegal and that the dog needs a bath.
Laid out on the seat, smelling up the whole goddamned
train. Schizophrenics, manic-depressives. drunks.
bumbs. bennys. the man or woman with no face, a hood.
is it Death? It was coughing up what might be anthrax
or smallpox or god only knows what. And it was this
dead thing. could have been a man or woman.
