OFFTOPIC--Live From Golgotha

Gore Vidal has always struck me as a writer whose subject matter is better 
than his style.  I have found each novel I read (Messiah, Julian, Creation, 
Khalki, Burr, Empire) interesting in spite of his very pedestrian style.  I could 
not get through his autobiography Palimpsest because of this.  It just seemed 
to be a long category of all the Famous People he has met and/or slept with.
