Well, er, I have.  And I only vaguely remember the name being brought up in the
commentary, and I didn't take notes the first time through.  But I'm on my
second read now, at Canto Four, with a growing pile of notes (I enjoyed the
poem better the second time).  So I'll get back to Botkin soon...
