...and quite a few other Pynchon readers who have
spoken up on this issue.

What do you call it when you do what you're doing now
-- hectoring, badgering, pounding away at one then
another P-lister, trying to force him or her to change
behavior with your bootless bluster?

If you truly want a freewheeling unmoderated
discussion here, why not drop the hypocrisy and
practice what you preach -- let it run free. ("If dogs
run free, why can't we?")

Still amazed at how touchy you and some other Pale
Fire readers are at having to answer a simple question
about how this Nabokov discussion will meet the
Pynchon focus of Pynchon-l.

Why not keep Pynchon in the center, let the Nabokov
reading serve primarily to help understand Pynchon
better, as several of your colleagues have begun to do
-- then nobody will have any reason at all to question
the value of this project in this venue.

The more you push back against that reasonable
request, the more it looks like you and fq and some of
your other Nabokov reading buddies (NOT the PF
participants who have been discussing Pynchon in the
NPPF threads this week) are really interested more in
imposing your will on the majority here than you are
in working together to better understand Pynchon.

P.S. "Totalitarian" is a poor choice of words on your
part. If you want to go down that path, we could also
discuss the blatant anti-Semitism of your "Millstein"
spiel and hateful art work in the recent past. Not to
mention the racism of a recent offlist post to me.
You're a real piece of work, Da Ben Niao.
