That's right, Mr. Millison, you have to go with the flow. I agree
with you and monrovius that "More is Less" also refers to _1984_,
but it's a joke, isn't it? It's 1984, alright, and furry, freaky
Zoyd, after smoking a joint, goes into the shop and buys a
woman's dress for himself, with a check both he and the sales-
lady know is probably rubber. The times have changed but not
quite the way predicted in _1984_. The scene is humorous, 
lighten up. Stop being an old grouch. The only potential thought 
police, here, are readers who want to imprison the narrative
in some dreary outdated worldview dependent on cold war
dichotomies that no longer exist. It's time to update that chip
on your shoulder. There are new concerns facing us today
that require a more sophisticated analysis then that provided
by a book published in late 1990 ostensibly about goings on in
1984, and before. 

The strain lines in your attempts to make VL fit your political 
agenda for 2003 are becoming glaringly obvious. The book can
stand on its own merits.
