I've been trying to stay out of the current affairs
discussions here, such as they are, but ...

took some responsibility for ultimately halping to
clean up at least a couple of these situations. The
atrocities in Rwanda, in particular, now THERE'S
something anyone claiming the moral high ground SHOULD
have done something about. Kosovo, Chechnya, Aceh
Province ... but what I find interesting is that many
South Koreans find our potentially destabilizing
influence on the peninsula more of a threat than North
Korea. Though I hardly want the
possibility/probability/certainty of a North Korean
bomb or five to come to fruition. And I've long
worried about the possibility et al. of an
Indian/Pakistani nuclear exchange. No distant, no
early, no warning, just death, disease, suffering, and
nowhere near the infrastructure even the South Koreans
would have in order to deal with it. Okay, now I'm
seriously disturbed for the day. We have it good ...
