You're perfectly entitled. No practical consequences will follow from
NOT using it. Or from using it either--it won't help topple Capitalism
or anything. Only serves as a possible aid to understanding society. 

That's Theory with a capital T. However, as is frequently pointed out,
everyone uses some kind of theory (small t) whether they acknowledge it
or not.

Everyone adheres to some kind of ideology.
