Yes. Our reading strategies are part of an apparatus that reads everything.
It gets dismissed as navel-gazing for a variety of reasons, but the
apparatus is fair game for investigation as much as that which the apparatus
perceives. Hard, soft, strap-on, battery-operated...to be is to be fucked no
matter how you look at it.
