Ever read "The Retrait of Metaphor"
After reading it I got to thinking that the best thing in the world for
a Derrida reader to do to get a grip on what is real and what is text is
to drive a cab in NYC or any big city for a week or two then pilot a
boat up the East river or any major river on any major city in the
world. If this doesn't convince him that Derrida is a performing folly
that should have flopped like pet rocks and 8 track tape players, I
guess a few weeks operating a dredging machine won't hurt.
