Yes, Pale Fire is a must read; I've read it twice and
would read it again if there weren't so many other
fine things by Nabokov to explore. I doubt
Pynchon-L's ability to focus any sort of
Pynchon-related discussion of it, however -- basing
this expectation on the experience of watching so many
Pynchon book discussions fizzle and die here. There
doesn't seem to be a large enough core group to
sustain such a discussion. Compare the original group
read of Mason & Dixon, which fizzled towards the end
during a period in which there were perhaps 5 times as
many frequent (daily, more or less) P-list
participants as there are now.
fq is right to note that the group readings since the
Vineland reading have barely limped along. This will
be no different, and suffers from the get-go by being
of tangential interest to Pynchon-L's primary focus.
In passing-- Big Bird you are as full of shit as a
Christmas goose, as they say.
