I knew Morris was a horse's ass, but this is too much.

A lister expresses interest in reading the book that Morris doesn't, and it's automatically deemed a "null" vote by Mr. "What Have You Contributed To The List Lately."

Typical.

I would love to handle a discussion of the Foreward to Pale Fire, but I think it's time Ignatius demonstrate to the rest of us just how a well-argued, well-supported, enlightening discussion is supposed to be conducted. He's been dropping his turds of self-inflated grandiosity long enough, and I for one would love to see what he can produce.

Morris, I challenge you to a dual:

YOU agree to host the Foreward (or a reasonable portion of it), offering posts that provide summary, commentary, notes, scholarship, everything that you claim is often lacking from the list today. I will do the same for the next section (whether it be a portion of the foreward, the Shade poem, whatever).

You think you're so perfect and smart and "contributing" to this list?

Let's see it.

Put up or shut up, Fuck up.

In the meantime, I cast an equal vote for Vineland. Either book has my blessing, so long as it's done well.

Another null vote.
