Headcount Update Correction

For the record--even though we seem to be past the voting phase and on to something else--my intention this morning was to agree with Elaine in endorsing a simultaneous reading of both books. Somehow my name ended up only on the Vineland list.

I love Vineland. I've never read Pale Fire, but I picked up a copy on the way home Wednesday night purely on the strength of Keith's enthusiasm for it. The few pages of the foreword that I read in the bookstore bar (what, your bookstore doesn't have a bar?) suggest a reading of Pale Fire would be a fascinating counterpoint to just about any other group reading, especially on this list. And damn that music.

I would merrily participate in both, but I'm afraid I'd have to leave the heavy lifting to others who are better prepared.
