When I get Pale Fire I'll pick up a Russian dictionary too. They taught
me Russian in the U.S. Army, and I like to joke that all I remember is
"Ne strelyeite!" -- Don't shoot.

But when I told that to a Russian-speaking Romanian at work, after a
moment he said, Oh you mean Ne Streyleieieieieiitye, and then I knew
that I'd really lost all my Russian skills.

Charles, King of Zembla? - sounds like Zemlya, Earth, as I recall.

My kingdom is not of this world. He makes us kings and priests. I
suspect that the "Kings of the Earth" turn out to be good guys in
Revelation, not the bad guys. So much of that is possible with a
reflexive (AF) hermeneutic, where say, A kills B, but A *IS* B.

I'm gonna love this read. (AF=autofellatio. I will say AF much.)
