I'm not sure what you mean by this. I think you can understand Kinbote's
perspective and character without cutting the book to bits and clipping it
back together again or "purchasing two copies" of it, and it's these
ridiculous and self-serving instructions which reveal Kinbote's solipsistic
mania. I don't know that one needs to "get inside the Kinbote perspective",
or that that was what Nabokov intended.
The rules for reading the novel which people have been insisting upon are
almost as funny as Kinbote's. It's this, in part, that Nabokov satirises.
