Where do you see the "Plenty Pynchonian reverberations" in this?
Is he talking about ecosocialism or promoting ecofascism? He's remarkable
imprecise:
"The crises of our time can and must be seen as revolutionary opportunities,
which it is our obligation to affirm and bring into existence."
Our obligation? Where is his revolutionary army?

Really?
"Why have a substantial majority of Jews chosen to flaunt world opinion in
order to rally about a state that essentially has turned its occupied lands
into a huge concentration camp and driven its occupied peoples to such
gruesome expedients as suicide bombing?"

I don't think that I can agree to this. "The Jews" are not responsible for
the suicide bombings. Gaza is not Auschwitz. Palestinians aren't transported
like cattle to the gas chambers. The Intifada isn't the Warszaw-uprising.
This is diminishing the crimes of the Holocaust. Kovel must allow the
question if he isn't a latent anti-Semite and I don't feel compelled to read
much more of him.
