Ever taught film. Maybe. Maybe not. But Imagine if you invited a group
of people to watch a film. Most of them have never seen it before but
some have. You introduce it somehow. You turn off the lights and just
when a few are beginning to nod off, some are getting into it, the eyes
are getting adjusted, you press the pause button and start talking. 

Boy, this pisses people off. 

Suppose you back the thing up and re-run a scene. 

OK, guys check out how subtle Terry Gilliam's ...  critique of ...  blah
blah ... 
pay attention to the symbolism here guys, the fisher king ... Pinocchio
... holy grail ... homophobic homeless working class jawbreaking
capitalist madness on old main street USA ... 

Now, suddenly, Robin Williams says something like, 

"I've got a hard-on for you the size of Florida" 

and everyone bursts out laughing. 

Rewind it! They implore.
