Yes I'm spamming the list but for a good cause.
If you don't live in the New York City area you might want to hit the delete
key now.
My former band The modifier$ <http://www.themodifiers.com/index.jsp> are
playing the Acme Underground in NYC on July 3.
Come on down and drink to excess in a literary fashion.
Chris Perry, son of the legendary playwright Jack Perry, will be more than
happy to discuss any contemporary author you choose while becoming screaming
drunk and planning an expedition to McSorley's. Ask him about holiday
dinners in Western Massachusetts with a fairly bizarre collection of
Broadway and Hollywood guests. Apparently I'm less fun than Darren McGavin
or Tony Randall, but much more fun than Paul Newman. Then ask him about the
school bus rides with the fairly ugly J Mascis and his fairly fair
girlfriend Uma Thurman. Chris grew up thinking that everybody was like this
and lived on a farm in a town without a post office or store.
Weird guy.
Great songwriter.
World class drinker.
At one point, we closed the Beacon Hill Pub on 52 consecutive Monday nights
because we didn't want to break the streak.
Go on down to the Acme and say "Hi". Just don't compare this most literary
of songwriters to Paul Westerberg to his face.
If you aren't interested I hope ypu hit the delete key by now and went back
to arguing about the origins of the internet, Nabokov, and Doug.
Hang loose y'all,
Joe
