<<There you go again, ignoring the facts of the
matter,
and distorting my particpation in this discussion
thread ...>>

and

<<"Local libraries are right in line with a U.S.
Supreme Court ruling Monday requiring public libraries
to use computer filters to block pornographic material
on the Internet if they want to receive federal
funding. ">>

I've commented on this before, that you seem to
believe the Supreme Court is in cahoots in this
governmental scheme of yours.

<<U.S. Internet users may be familiar with the kind of
firewalls that limit unauthorized access to
confidential information kept on personal, business,
or government computers. But the type of country-wide
firewalls this article will look at are broader, and
more pernicious. In countries like Saudi Arabia, Iran,
China, Myanmar, Singapore, and at least 20 others, the
only way to access the Web is through a firewall.>>

Forgive me if I persist in seing differences between
the U.S. and Singapore, the U.S. and Saudi Arabia, the
U.S. and Iran, the U.S. and China, etc. Also if I
doubt the ability of these countries to succeed for
long in their attempts.

<<You've offered no convincing argument that the
Internet is only benign or a boon to humanity.>>

Only a boon? When, exactly did I promise or even
suggest such an argument?

<<Only undiscerning new technology boosters and
cheerleaders ignore the dangers the Internet already
poses.>>

This gets very silly very fast. You shouldn't think
because you are able only to think in categorical
extremes that that holds true for others. Or that the
world actually is like that.
