I know that a few people are not too happy about doing a Nabokov reading.
Let's consider it an experiment -- it may work, it may not work. But I'd
like to make a small plea to the List -- please, let's stop grousing about
Nabokov postings being off-topic, non-Pynchon, or trying to dilute, derail,
destroy, or demean (these are words with a D this time) the List.
Those who object to the reading: your objections have been noted. Please let
the reading continue on its own merits or lack of them. Comments about
Nabokov postings being off-topic are just going to cloud any real issues at
stake, whether these issues are directly concerning the reading, or consist
of personality disputes.
