tht lying to the US public about WMDs in Iraq was
excusable, for example) and multinational corporations
(prominent among US journalists who have in the past
helped to mislead their readers about the
anti-globalization protesters, for example).

Friedman's C.V. illustrate a greater grasp of world
affairs than what we see in Pynchon's work?
