Y'all:

As more and more of the times of our lifes become
subject for recollection
and playback, it is only inevitable that certain
pieces of the PUZZLE will
fall into place.

As the MK-ULTRA character in Norman Mailer's "Harlot's
Ghost" -- the
ghost-watching "harlot" Kittridge -- puts it . . . we
are all made of two
conflicting personalities, the ALPHA and the OMEGA.

The fact that this fascination with intra-personality
conflict and chemically
provoked DECONSTRUCTION *was* the central theme of the
CIA's massive
collection of "drug" projects, has long been
understood.

Why?

Forget the FAIRY tales of "Manchurian Candidate"
remote-controlled assassins
(although Frank Sinatra *was* good in the movie, just
as he is a STAR in
Mailer's novel) and dismiss those fantasies about
flooding the ANTI-WAR
movement with drugs to drown out a youthful UPRISING.

Foolishness.  Naive.  Silly.

But, why did they REALLY do it?

Why did CIA top-profiler Frank Barron get his protege
(and junior-profiler
Tim Leary) a job at Harvard with the Agency's
UBER-PROFILER, Henry "Harry"
Murray?

And, what did Harry Murray's sado-masochistic
relationship with his MK-ULTRA
"colleague" -- which was largely carried out in
Murray's BOLLINGEN (a
faithful recreation of Carl JUNG's round-stone
CASTLE-KEEP) -- and his
*ownership* of the "secret" Herman Melville papers
(which McLuhan knew
about?) have to do with this?

Many of the puzzle-pieces and much of the background
for Tim Leary's
trajectory from Harvard to Folsom and for LSD's
transition from LAB-TEST to
MASS-DOSE are discussed in Alston Chase's new book --

What was going on in MK-ULTRA was a concerted attempt
to build a NEW WORLD
MAN.

The CIA was deeply involved in the BREAKDOWN of
personalities for the simple
reason that they wished to BUILDUP a new sort of
personality.

LSD was their preferred MEDIUM for this transformation
from OLD WORLD to NEW
WORLD.

Read your Norman Mailer.  Grasp *your* own HISTORY. 
Listen to your GRATEFUL
DEAD.  Read your PYNCHON.  Listen to your McLUHAN.

KNOW the TERRORISM of your own LIFE!!

Then after you BLOW-UP . . . GROW-UP,
