Not sure I read that specific book (only vaguely familiar) but suspect
you are right about a better denouement.  

Do you suppose by any chance culture critics would insist that the
different technologies of the two visual media require different rules
of analysis and resolution.  Also, just a thought.:-)

Almost at the very beginning of PR someone says that pattern recognition
is everywhere in sapient activity or something to that effect.. Also the
word apophrenia which is supposed to mean faulty pattern recognition is
introduced. Did they just make it up?
