You're saying that the German Christian resistance was idiosyncratic and
personal rather than institutional? That may be true. One supposes that
there are some Lutheran historians (for example) out there who have done
some digging on this. It would be interesting to know what they've come up
with.

I'm no expert for that subject, but the Christian resistance in Germany
was, more or less, modest. With the exception of individual resistance of
priests or bishops, of course.
