Well, there I was, pretty excited to have found my own set of
dialect-related Pynchon quotations.  Then Doug came up with a bunch of
others that I would never have thought of on my own.  I thought that was
just peachy.  Unfortunately, it didn't lead to a wonderful Pynchon-related
exchange.  Instead, there were the usual insults and put-downs.  I thought
that just sucked.

PS:  And now I see Doug just found another one, "it's a linguistic
wilderness here, and he's afraid."  I can't help it--I'm impressed again!
