That's small potatos compared to his earlier assaults on his population.  The
PBS TV show "Frontline aired a retrospective distilling into one show their
many earlier shows over the years analyzing Sadaam's reign from its inception
to now.  One of the first interviews with him before he became the dictator (I
forget who did the interview) revealed a surprise:  Sadamm openly admitted that
he was a scholar of the reign of Stalin, whom he called his role model.
