Perhaps you don't know that Debka is believed to be
the mouthpiece of Israeli intelligence.
A few more scoops like this one and you'll be in line
for a job as a Fox News propagandist -- they don't
require much in the way of journalistic experience or
ethics, all you need to be able to do is rant and
drool so you should do just fine.

davemarc notes:
Doug "pynchonoid" Millison seems to have been the subscriber who introduced
Debka to this list himself last July, offering a link without any
contextualizing:
http://waste.org/mail/?list=pynchon-l&month=0207&msg=68424&keywords=debka
On October 8, "Jasper Fidget" reintroduced Debka, writing "Here's a site
likely to scare the shit out of you: http://www.debka.com/ .
They have a pretty obvious and rather undisguised agenda, and much of what
they report is way over the top, but--and here's the scary part really--much
of what they've reported in the past--well before the mainstreams--has
proven true. Here's an article about them:
http://www.observer.com/pages/story.asp?ID=4905 ...."
On October 12, pynchonoid offered another Debka report, this time noting,
"Latest reports from Debkafile on the US war in Iraq --
Debkafile has reported some legitimate scoops in the past but you never
know, your mileage may vary."
On October 19, pynchonoid offered another Debka report, on this occasion
noting, "Debka.com has been accused of being no more than a
mouthpiece for Israeli intelligence, but they have published stories in the
past year that have turned out to be 'true', whatever that might mean in
this age of spin and propaganda, stories that have been corroborated by
mainstream press organs at least. Your mileage may vary."
On December 5, David Morris offered a Debka report, prefaced by a "FWIW."
On January 10, pynchonoid offered another Debka report, excerpted with a
cheery "enjoy!"
So it appears to me that pynchonoid has offered more Debka "scoops" than
anyone on the list, that the type of criticism that pynchonoid directed at
Morris could just as well be applied to pynchonoid himself, and--most
importantly--that pynchonoid and Morris have yet another thing in common
besides their passion for Pynchon.
Lesson to be learned? Practice good Netiquette--it's the decent thing to
do.
This has been another public service announcement from d.
