Yes, well, the media. But can you really blame the media for their
timidity in representing  la résistance? After years of bashing by
the right wing, as it slowly came to dominate the airwaves, and then,
of course, that peculiarly American method of taming the media: anthrax-
pretty well documented, by now, to have originated from within the
domestic defense establishment- certainly enough to give any rational
news editor pause...

But the news does get out, after all, even if considered toxic by some.
