It means making up shit you think is in the text that isn't there but is
what you believe and want to see there then stating in no uncertain terms
that you are channeling Pynchon and everyone who disagrees with your reading
is making up shit they think is in the text but isn't really there but is
just their bias polluting what you know to be the true reading because you
are objective and your objectivity is validated because you are channeling
Pynchon and are smarter and less biased and everyone else is just juvenile
and idiotic.
