Assuming that you are correct that Pynchon is discussing precisely the
kind of situation that has come about in the US after 9-11 and assuming
it is therefore reasonable to infer that Pynchon expects the reader to
connect the dots, how do you explain the fact that P provides merely two
dots to connect? It seems to me that your idea of "a narrative" (well,
we know it's not your idea but...) can be of some use here. Right? 

PS I sense your frustration and so if you want to drop it that's fine.
Please don't resort to the kinds of tactics common to this list. I think
we are making some progress.
