Early in the evolution of the MMPI it was given to the 
California State Police, and some rather surprising
results were obtained. This story is almost apocryphal
now, but it did happen, and ruffled the experimental
psych literature for awhile. The "F" Scale was jokingly
referred to as the "Fascist" Scale amongst psych
grad students.
