Seems I recall something about airplanes being used as
bombs by evildoers who hate our way of life, back in
the fall of 2001 I think it was.

Not necessarily.  Maybe you're one of what Pynchon
calls "those among us who remain all too ready to
justify any government action, whether right or 
wrong."  Maybe not -- I don't recall you stating any
particular political preference here.

Funny how the reviewers who have written about
Pynchon's foreward to _1984_ don't have any trouble
understanding his references to the Bush
Administration's fascistic response to 9-11. I guess
they got the special copies of the book that included
a secret decoder ring.
